Hamas expected to stay away, Islamic Jihad rocket arsenal said decimated
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleHamas is not expected to participate in upcoming fighting between Israel and the Islamic Jihad terror group, a senior defense official tells Channel 13 news.
However, the official says the situation is liable to change.
During planning, IDF chief Herzi Halevy and political leaders urged those carrying out the strikes in Gaza to prevent any harm to Hamas, so they won’t have any reason to join in the fighting, Army Radio reports.
The radio station also reports that defense officials believe Islamic Jihad has only a few dozen long-range rockets left thanks to the military’s surprise offensive taking out the rest.
