Hezbollah, Hamas said substantially boosting military cooperation in Lebanon

Hezbollah and Hamas have substantially boosted their military cooperation in Lebanon in recent months, according to an unsourced, unconfirmed report on the Kan public broadcaster.

During this time, Hamas has allocated entire companies made up of hundreds of fighters who would be able to join Hezbollah’s elite Radwan force in southern Lebanon when an order is given, Kan says.

Hezbollah’s decision to join forces with Hamas comes against the backdrop of its severely weakened stature following its war with Israel that ended last November after roughly two years.

Meanwhile, Hamas managed to strengthen its presence in Lebanon, as Israel focused most of its strikes on Hezbollah during the war.

Hamas, as of late, has focused on raising funds and increasing production of rockets on Lebanese territory, mainly in the cities of Tyre, Sidon and Tripoli.

Last week, Israel carried out a relatively rare strike against a Hamas training center in Sidon that the IDF said killed 13 terror operatives.
