IDF confirms settler arson attack in two West Bank villages

The IDF confirms that Israeli settlers carried out arson attacks on two Palestinian villages in the West Bank overnight.

In Jalud, in the Nablus area, “Israeli citizens tried to set fire to chicken coops,” according to the military.

It says troops and Border Police officers were dispatched to the area, but the suspects fled before the forces arrived.

The forces assisted with extinguishing the fire, and no injuries were reported, the army adds.

Additionally, the military says troops and Border Police officers were dispatched to Turmus Ayya, northeast of Ramallah, following reports of an arson attack.

“Subsequently, a violent confrontation developed involving stone-throwing between Palestinians and Israeli civilians who arrived in the area,” the army says.

The IDF says troops used riot dispersal means and fired warning shots in the air amid the clash.
