IDF probing why rockets fired at Kiryat Shmona last night weren’t detected

The IDF says it is investigating why rockets launched from Lebanon at the northern city of Kiryat Shmona last night were not identified by detection systems.
No sirens sounded when two rockets struck the city, causing damage but no injuries, according to rescue services.
The IDF says that following a preliminary investigation, “it emerged that the launches were not detected, and therefore no alert was activated in the city.”
“The circumstances of the incident, including the failure to detect the launches, are currently being investigated by all relevant authorities,” the military adds.
It marks the second time in a week that rockets have hit Kiryat Shmona without sirens sounding. Last week, the military said a “localized malfunction” led to a rocket launch not being detected.
