IDF says Gaza media tower housed Hamas military intel’s R&D unit

The Israel Defense Forces releases another statement on its destruction of a high-rise building in Gaza that housed the offices of The Associated Press and Al Jazeera, after the White House commented on the matter and the two news outlets criticized the bombing.

Besides being used by Hamas military intelligence, the IDF says the terror group had other offices in the Al Jala building, as did Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

According to the IDF, Hamas military intelligence’s research and development unit operated out of the building and was responsible for numerous “acts of sabotage” against Israel, without elaborating. It also says the unit uses “the most valuable technology” in Hamas’s possession.

“The unit used these abilities against Israel on a number of occasions to try to sabotage and disrupt the activities of the IDF and citizens in the area near the border,” it says.
