IDF shoots down guided missile fired from Lebanon; northern resident hear loud explosions

The military says aerial defenses shot down a surface-to-air guided missile fired from Lebanon at an unmanned military aerial vehicle (UAV), and responded to the attack by targeting Hezbollah terror sites.

Residents in northern Israel reported hearing loud explosions amid the attacks.

The UAV was not damaged and “carried on with its mission,” says the Israel Defense Forces in an early morning announcement. The missile did not cross into Israeli airspace, according to the statement.

The IDF says there was also an aerial interception during the military response, without elaborating.
