Police issue a “clarification” after reports that they would not allow a protest over the failures that led to the October 7 Hamas onslaught to take place this evening outside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence in Caesarea.

“The Israel Police considers the right to protest a cornerstone of a democratic country,” they say in a statement, adding that the demonstration must be held in accordance with the law and any instructions from the Home Front Command.

While a series of senior Israeli officials have said in recent weeks that they take responsibility for the massive failures that enabled thousands of Hamas terrorists to storm across the Gaza border, killing 1,400 people — mostly civilians — and taking at least 233 hostages, Netanyahu has so far refused to do so.

The closest the prime minister has come is saying that “everyone will have to give answers” after the war.
