Iran army chief says Israel behind Hezbollah blacklisting in Gulf
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThe Iranian chief of staff accuses Israel of “ordering” Gulf monarchies to blacklist the Lebanese Shiite militia Hezbollah as a terror group last Wednesday, according to the Iranian Press TV news site.
According to the report, Major General Hassan Firouzabadi adds cryptically that the decision by the group of six nations “was in line with Saudi Arabia’s proxy war to prepare the ground for the US and Zionists to achieve their ominous objectives in the region.”
On Thursday, a Hezbollah official criticized the decision to blacklist it as “irresponsible” and “hostile,” and warned that “the Saudi regime must face the consequences.”
