Iranian and US delegations have held consultations with their respective capitals during a pause in talks, which will resume shortly, Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman said.
“Both delegations needed to carry out consultations with their respective capitals,” Esmaeil Baqaei told state TV.
Tehran and Washington held a third round of talks, the latest in a process that began earlier this month following a heavy US military buildup in the region.
Baqaei described the first session of negotiations, which lasted about three hours, as “intensive and very serious.”
It was held in the presence of Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi and United Nations nuclear watchdog chief Rafael Grossi, said Baqaei.
He added “very important and practical proposals” were put forward to address Iran’s nuclear program and to secure sanctions relief for Tehran, without elaborating.
