Islamic Jihad says that it will only cease fire if Israel agrees to halt targeted killings of its fighters.

Egypt has been attempting to broker a ceasefire between Gaza and Israel, but efforts appeared to falter last night and airstrikes and rockets have continued.

Mohamad al-Hindi, an official with the group, says a sticking point in the talks is that the Palestinians want an Israeli commitment to stop targeted killing operations, such as the ones that killed three top Islamic Jihad commanders early Tuesday.

According to some reports, Islamic Jihad also has demanded that Israel cancel next week’s Flag March in celebration of Jerusalem Day.
