Israeli judoka takes gold at UAE tourney, ‘Hatikva’ to play in Abu Dhabi for first time

Israeli judoka Sagi Muki wins the gold medal at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam 2018, meaning that the Israeli national anthem will be played in the United Arab Emirates for the first time ever.

Muki beat Belgium’s Matthias Casse in the under 81kg category to take the title in the international ceremony.

The tournament is allowing Israeli athletes to compete under their national symbols for first time, so “Hatikva” will be played at the medal ceremony later.
