Labor leader says ready to clinch coalition deal with ‘change bloc’

Channel 12 reports “significant progress” in coalition talks with the Labor party.

Labor party leader Merav Michaeli is expected to be offered a “senior economic” ministerial portfolio and a second “significant portfolio,” in exchange for joining the coalition of the so-called “change bloc” of Netanyahu’s rivals.

The report does not specify which offices are being offered.

Michaeli, speaking at a Labor faction meeting, says she’s ready to sign a coalition agreement today.

“We have made concessions that no other party has made. We’ve come a long way. And we are ready to close [the deal] as soon as today,” she says.
