Likud apologizes for Netanyahu’s release of statement on Shabbat, claims ‘technical error’

Opposition chief Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party apologizes for his putting out a statement congratulating Olympic gold medalist Linoy Ashram during Shabbat, claiming its release on the Jewish day of rest was due to a “technical error.”

“Likud always safeguarded the honor of Shabbat and made sure not to publish statements to the press during Shabbat, and thus we will continue to act,” the party says.
