Lt. Yakir Naveh, who died in a plane crash in 1962, laid to rest
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleLt. Yakir Naveh, the Israeli Air Force pilot who died when his plane crashed into the Sea of Galilee 56 years ago, is finally laid to rest at Tel Aviv’s Kiryat Shaul Military Cemetery today.
Naveh’s plane crashed in a training accident in 1962. His body was lost for 56 years, until divers located it on the floor of the Sea of Galilee last week.
