Netanyahu says US-Israel alliance ‘strong’

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says terrorism — whether in Israel or California — “is attacking the very values we hold dear,” and all the “things that define the value of life.”

In a televised message to the Saban forum, he says that terrorists believe that the West is weak because of the values we hold, while they in fact make the people of Israel and the US “so strong.”

“Nobody should underestimate the resilience” of our societies, he says.

“Nobody should underestimate our alliance — it’s strong, and it will be stronger in the years to come,” he says. Netanyahu thanks Obama for security support. “I think that everyone in Israel appreciates that, beginning with me.”

Netanyahu says “it was never true” that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict fuels Middle East instability, but it is now “demonstrably false.”

“It is a battle of militant Islam against other Muslims, and everyone else,” he says.

The same is true for IS, which doesn’t “mince its words,” and is true of Iran, he says.
