Netanyahu trial set to resume at noon, behind closed doors

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s corruption trial is slated to resume today, as the court system returns from its August recess and after the premier missed the last scheduled hearings in July due to food poisoning.
A hearing is set to begin at noon and is expected to take several hours.
The hearing will take place behind closed doors, a security measure that’s been taken regularly throughout the trial due to sensitive information being discussed.
The trial, which is currently in its cross-examination phase, has been going on since 2020, and Netanyahu has been testifying twice a week since December, with countless of these hearings canceled or cut short for various reasons related to the premier’s responsibilities and to his fatigue and illnesses.
