Netanyahu’s office denies he will tap Barkat as finance minister

The Prime Minister’s Office denies an unsourced Channel 12 report that said Benjamin Netanyahu is considering tapping Nir Barkat as finance minister instead of Moshe Kahlon in the coming days.

“The agreement between the prime minister and Minister Kahlon is that the minister will remain in his post until the election,” the PMO says in a statement. “Any report otherwise is untrue.”
