PA police turn back anti-Israel march near Ramallah

Palestinian protesters have been prevented by PA forces from reaching an Israeli checkpoint north of Ramallah, the Ma’an news site reports.

Dozens of protesters, some of them burning tires, attempted to reach the IDF checkpoint near Beit El as part of a Nakba Day demonstration but were turned back, according to the report.

An earlier Nakba Day protest on the Gaza border fence dispersed peacefully after Israeli troops were dispatched to the scene. Low-level clashes were also reported in Bethlehem.
