Police declare 500-foot no-go area around ammonia-leaking Acre plant
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GooglePolice and local officials in Acre say they have declared a no-go zone within 150 meters (500 feet) of a believed ammonia leak at a Unilever plant in the city, closing roads and homes and redirecting traffic away from the area.
A leak earlier this morning was sealed, but subsequent air quality tests showed ammonia was still being released into the air.
Firefighters and other officials are working to locate what they say appears to be a second leak.
