Police manhunt for terrorists focusing around Elad
Emanuel (Mannie) Fabian is The Times of Israel's military correspondent.
Police say forces are continuing to search for the two terrorists who killed three people and severely wounded several others in the central city of Elad last night.
“Even at this time, Israel Police are continuing extensive operational activities with the security forces, with the aim of capturing the terrorists who fled the murder scene yesterday,” police say in a statement.
Footage posted by residents to social media shows large forces scanning around the perimeter of the city, with a helicopter flying overhead.
“Our working assumption is that they are in the Elad area, so there are hundreds of security forces personnel who are there and scanning,” Israel Police central district commander Avi Bitton says.
