Police nab several current and former Tax Authority employees over suspected bribes
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GooglePolice have arrested several current and former Tax Authority employees on suspicion of taking bribes, the agency announces.
In exchange for the bribes, the officials are suspected of approving false tax returns totaling NIS 80 million ($26 million).
Police forces from the Lahav 433 major crimes unit and Tax Authority investigators raided the suspects’ homes this morning, arresting and detaining several, though police do not provide an exact number.
The suspects will be brought to the Ramle Magistrate’s Court for a hearing to extend their remand.
