Qatar condemns Israel’s strikes in Jabaliya in northern Gaza and warns that expanded attacks on the Strip would “undermine mediation and de-escalation efforts.”

The Qatari foreign ministry describes the strike on the Jabaliya camp as a “new massacre against the defenseless Palestinian people”, warning against “the expansion of Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip to include civilian targets,” according to the official Qatar News Agency.

Israel says it hit an underground Hamas control center and killed a top terror leader and dozens of gunmen, adding that the implosion of the tunnel led to the collapse of several nearby buildings.

Qatar has been mediating a possible deal to release the more than 240 hostages held in Gaza.
