Report: Khalil al-Hayya, targeted by Israel in failed Qatar strike, to lead Hamas delegation in Egypt talks

Saudi channel Asharq reports that Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya will lead the Hamas delegation in negotiations on ending the Gaza war set to begin in Egypt tomorrow.

Al-Hayya, who has remained outside Gaza for the duration of the war, was targeted in a botched Israeli strike on Hamas leaders in Doha on September 9. He appeared in public for the first time since the attack yesterday.

According to the report, the delegation will arrive in Cairo today before heading to Sharm el-Sheikh for talks tomorrow.

Discussions will start with creating conditions for the hostages to be released within days, with the aid of the Red Cross, as has been done in the past, according to the report.
