Requests for gun permits said to rise sharply amid recent attacks

The number of requests for gun permits has risen drastically over the past week in the wake of three deadly terror attacks, Channel 13 news reports.

According to figures cited by the network, 143 people applied for gun permits on March 22, the day three people were killed in a stabbing and car-ramming attack in Beersheba.

On Sunday, the same day two police officers were shot dead in the northern city of Hadera, 363 requests were filed.

That figure jumped drastically to 966 yesterday, when five people were killed in a shooting attack in Bnei Brak.
