Rubio says ‘some progress’ made in Iran talks, will soon see if more is possible

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio repeats that “some progress” has been made in talks with Iran.
“We’ll see over the next few hours and days whether progress could be made,” Rubio says during a White House cabinet meeting, offering little-to-no new details on the status of talks.
Rubio reiterates that US President Donald Trump’s administration would prefer a diplomatic path to ensuring Iran does not obtain a nuclear weapon, but that Washington “ha[s] other options available” if talks do not succeed.
“Iran — and these people in charge of Iran — can never have a nuclear weapon, and they will never have a nuclear weapon as long as you’re president of the United States,” Rubio tells Trump, as cabinet ministers go around the table updating the president on their work, while making a point to profusely praise him.
