Saudi Arabia says it intercepted drones launched from Iraq targeting oil facilities
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleSaudi Arabia says that its air defenses intercepted and destroyed several drones that attempted to target oil facilities in the kingdom’s Eastern Province.
Saudi defense ministry spokesperson Turki al-Maliki says on X that the drones were launched from Iraqi territory by what he describes as Iran-backed terrorist militias.
Saudi Arabia reserves the legitimate right to defend itself and its national capabilities and retains the right to respond “at the appropriate time and place,” al-Maliki adds.
