Syrian regime chopper crew captured by rebels

Islamist rebels in Syria capture four crew members when a regime helicopter crashes in the country’s northwest, a monitor says, while a fifth serviceman is killed.

“A regime helicopter was forced to land in the region of Jabal al-Zawiya in the northwest, which is a bastion of (Al-Qaeda’s Syrian affiliate) Jabhat al-Nusra,” Rami Abdel Rahman, head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, tells AFP.

“Four of the crew were captured and a fifth man was killed by armed men in a neighboring village.”
