Israel’s confirmed coronavirus cases reach 15,443, the Health Ministry says, with 145 new infections recorded over the previous 24 hours — the lowest daily tally since March 20.
The country’s death toll was 201, one higher than the morning’s count.
The Health Ministry says 133 people are in serious condition, 99 of whom are on ventilators, while 82 people were moderately ill. There have now been 6,731 people in Israel who recovered from the coronavirus.
Israel has registered 23 deaths per million citizens, according to the Worldometers tally, which places it at around 40th in the world, slightly better than the world average of some 26 deaths per million.
Help us report truthfully on social media
As a multimedia journalist, my job is to take the quality, fact-based journalism produced by The Times of Israel newsroom and make it accessible across every platform — from Instagram posts to podcasts to short-form videos.
This is how many, especially young people, consume news these days. But misinformation is rampant on social media. Our team at ToI produces accurate, responsible short-form reporting on Israel and the Jewish world.
If you believe in the importance of factual social media journalism, please consider joining our reader support group, The Times of Israel Community. Your financial support is essential to sustain responsible multimedia reporting.
