Majority of Israelis will fast on Yom Kippur, survey reveals
59% of secular respondents intend to fast; 46% of Jewish adults plan to attend synagogue services

A majority of Israelis will fast on Yom Kippur, a survey revealed on Monday.
The survey of 500 Jewish adults, conducted by the Panels Research Institute, found that 64 percent planned to fast Tuesday night to Wednesday, 32% did not, with the remaining 4% undecided.
A breakdown revealed that while 100% of religious and 86% of traditional respondents intend to fast this year, a solid 59% majority of self-defined secular respondents also intend to fast.
However, only 46% of Jewish Israeli adults plan on attending synagogue during the Day of Atonement.
