A man died in a fire in a Givat Shmuel apartment on Thursday evening, according to Magen David Adom.

Magen David Adom said the man, in his fifties, was extracted from the apartment by Fire and Rescue Services with severe burns and no pulse.

“We carried out some medical tests, but his injury was extremely severe, and we had no choice but to declare him dead,” MDA paramedic Omer Manor said.

He added that a 28-year-old man had also been lightly injured from smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital for medical care.

Police arrived on the scene and began an investigation into the cause of the fire.
