Man lightly hurt in apparent shooting on Jerusalem ‘tunnel road’

Police close road in West Bank south of the capital after more gunfire heard

Police were investigating a possible shooting attack Saturday evening on the “tunnel road” that runs from southern Jerusalem into the West Bank.

An alleged victim of the gunfire, suffering light injuries from shrapnel wounds, presented himself at a Terem medical clinic in Jerusalem for treatment.

The man, from East Jerusalem, said he had been fired at on the road between Bethlehem and Jerusalem. His car showed signs of having been hit, Israel Radio said.

The road was temporarily closed in both directions after further gunfire was heard later Saturday.
