Police expand search for missing mother of two from Acre
Officers look for clues on Sapir Nachum’s whereabouts in several northern towns; her partner to appear at remand hearing after arrest

Police on Sunday expanded their search for a missing mother of two from the northern coastal city of Acre, amid growing fears for her safety.
Drones, a helicopter and canine units were deployed in the effort to find Sapir Nachum, 24, who has been missing since Thursday.
Search teams scoured the area around Acre for the missing woman, while police said they expanded their search to the northern towns of Ibtin, Rekhasim and Shfaram.
On Saturday, police arrested Nachum’s partner in connection with her disappearance. He was due to appear at a court for a remand hearing later Sunday.
Faras Brik, the suspect’s lawyer, said his client denies any connection with Nachum’s disappearance.
Nachum’s mother said Saturday that she was concerned her daughter’s partner may have kidnapped her.
“My fear is that my daughter is locked up in someplace,” Suzy Nachum told Channel 12 news. “On the one hand, I believe she’s alive, on the other, not. I dream she was crying and asking for my help.”
Nachum was last seen in person when she left her home on Herzl Street on Thursday morning with her two-year-old daughter, who she dropped off at the kindergarten. Nachum also has an eight-month-old baby.
Eden said she was supposed to return home shortly thereafter but never came back.
The suspect is known to the police and has been arrested before for vandalism as well as violent offenses.
“He sat in jail for 12 years and got into a lot of trouble with the police,” Nachum’s sister Eden told the Ynet news site.
He is also reportedly known to the public from TikTok, regularly uploading videos of his vandalism. He was recently arrested after entering Kibbutz Kfar Masaryk with a group of friends on a horse and cart and causing a disturbance, according to the Ynet news site.
Relatives of the woman were said to fear the worst after she was last seen in security video footage entering a car belonging to the father of her children, who had a history of violent offenses. Nahum was said to be involved in a dispute over finances with the man.
According to Channel 12 news, Eden said she is sure that Sapir is “imprisoned somewhere and can’t leave,” and fears for her life.
“It’s not logical. There is never an hour in the day that I don’t speak to her. Even if her telephone was off and didn’t have any battery, she would find a way to call me,” she added.
Police said they are conducting extensive searches in Acre and its surroundings, and requested that anyone with any details about Nachum’s whereabouts or any information that could be helpful for the case to report it to the police.
