UAE presidential adviser: Iranian attacks prove Tehran ‘incapable’ of abiding by terms of deal to end war

Anwar Gargash, a senior advisor to the president of the United Arab Emirates, says that Iran has proven itself “incapable” of adhering to the agreement it made with the United States to end the war.

His assessment, posted on X, comes after Tehran’s recent attacks on tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and overnight strikes in Bahrain and Kuwait.

The attacks, he writes in Arabic, “are a clear indication that Tehran remains incapable of adhering to the requirements of de-escalation and ending the war.”

“The Gulf Arab states cannot remain the target of Iran’s wavering between the logic of escalation and the path of rationality, stability, and peace,” he adds.
