Acclaimed chef Shalom Kadosh was seriously wounded during an attempted robbery in Jerusalem on Sunday. He was identified by the press on Friday.
Kadosh, 74, tried to chase a thief at a gas station after the man stole his wallet from his car. The two tussled and Kadosh fell, banging his head hard on the floor. He was rushed to Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center in serious condition.
Kadosh is considered one of the most well-known Israeli chefs, cooking for many world leaders.

In January 2020 he prepared the food for the World Holocaust Forum in Israel, which included 41 heads of state.
Doctors at Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital said they were fighting for the 74-year-old’s life.

Police said they were investigating the incident and had launched searches to locate the suspect.
