23-year-old stabbed to death outside club in Haifa

No arrests yet made; police investigating possible connection to fatal shooting in Jaffa Sunday

Vladimir Dranov, a 23-year-old man, was stabbed to death early Monday during a fight outside a dance club, Malina, on Histadrut Road in the Haifa Bay.

Baranov, a resident of Kiryat Ata, was stabbed in his upper body.

Magen David Adom paramedics found Dranov unconscious on the ground and proceeded to provide him with emergency care. They rushed him to Rambam Medical Center where, despite doctors’ resuscitation attempts, he was pronounced dead shortly after.

Police launched an investigation into the attack. The identity of the perpetrator was unclear and police had not made any arrests by Monday night despite interviewing dozens of people. They said the stabbing likely happened just after 3 a.m.

Police said they were checking whether the Haifa stabbing had any connection to the fatal shooting of a 26-year-old man in Jaffa Sunday evening.
