An early B-day for Bibi

Despite only turning 64 on Monday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu celebrated his birthday at the Prime Minister’s Office Sunday, along with his wife, Sara, son Yair, ministers and MKs.

Speaking at the party, Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon congratulated the prime minister and sang his praises.

“You were elected to lead the State of Israel for the third time, and you lead the state of Israel down a certain path even if people attack you for it,” Ya’alon said, according to a press release. “The collective wisdom of the people puts its trust in you, backs you up and supports you.”

MK Tzachi Hanegbi reminisced about the first time he met Netanyahu 27 years ago, when Netanyahu was Israel’s ambassador to the UN.

“I have to say that I do not see a change in the characteristics that impressed me that day in your room at the United Nations,” Hanegbi said. “The same sense of historical mission and vision, energetic leadership and the understanding that eventually this nation will stand or fall on its ability to survive on its own. This is the message you have emphasized for decades, as always the people have received it, and in recent years people have been connected to these messages and the power, the merit and the justice that go along with them.

“I am proud to be with you my friend, by your side, behind you and to give you the power to lead us.”
