Six teens between the ages of 14 and 18 escaped from a youth detention facility for illegal migrants in Hadera on Friday. Police captured two of the youths and were conducting searches for the others.
According to initial investigations the six, Eritrean and Sudanese nationals who entered Israel illegally, escaped by breaking the bars of their cell’s windows and jumping off the roof of the facility.
Prison Service officials announced they were closing the facility and transferring the remaining detainees to the Givon detention center in Ramle.
The Hadera facility was opened in 2010 to receive minors who infiltrated into the country without their parents.
