A mortar shell fired from Syrian territory landed in an open area in the southern Golan Heights on Tuesday morning, near the border fence.

On Monday, two shells fell into Israeli territory, also in the same region.  There were no reports of injuries or damage in any of the incidents.

According to the IDF, the fire is spillover from clashes between the Syrian army and opposition forces — not a retaliation for alleged Israeli airstrikes in Syrian territory over the weekend.
