Three residents of Haifa were indicted on Monday in Haifa District Court on charges of stealing antitank missiles from a military base on the Golan Heights.
David Mizrahi, 21, Aner Koleib, 29 and Fried Koleib, 27, all of Haifa were also charged with conspiracy, arms trafficking, weapons possession, carrying and transporting weapons and theft.
According to the indictment, the two advanced Gil missiles were taken from the Golan and transported to a warehouse in Haifa, after which the defendants intended to sell them. Mizrahi claimed that he did not know that it was missiles that had been stolen, but the police investigation revealed that Mizrahi had planned to receive his cut of the sale money.
The Gil missile was produced by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems.
Prosecutors asked Judge Orit Kantor to imprison the three suspects until the end of the proceedings.
