CAIRO (AP) — A medical official in Egypt’s southern Sinai says 18 people have been killed in a road collision between a truck and a minibus that was heading to the resort city of Sharm el Sheikh.

The official says injured passengers in the Wednesday accident are being transferred to el-Tor general hospital in el-Tor city, the capital of southern Sinai.

The official declined to be named because he was not authorized to brief reporters.

The identities of the passengers have not yet been released by Egyptian authorities. There was no immediate report as to who was responsible for the collision.
