Acre resident tries to set himself on fire

Police prevent self-immolation attempt

A 60-year old Acre resident tried to set himself on fire on Wednesday night, in the latest of a string of self-immolation attempts since Moshe Silman torched himself, fatally, at a Tel Aviv social protest on July 14.

Police were called to the scene and were able to prevent the deed. The man, who cited “mental distress” as the reason behind his suicide attempt, was taken to a hospital for treatment.
