Teen arrested following suspected assault on 17-year-old in Bat Yam

Wounded teenager suffers head injury and is rushed to nearby hospital in severe condition

A 17-year-old from Tel Aviv was arrested on suspicion of assaulting and seriously injuring a boy his age during a brawl at a beach in Bat Yam early Saturday morning.

Police reported that the suspected assailant escaped from the scene of the attack and was apprehended shortly afterwards, according to Ynet.

The wounded teen was treated by a medical team in Bat Yam and was later rushed to the Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer in severe condition. He was unconscious and suffered a head injury, Israel Hayom reported.

The suspected attacker was set to be brought to the Tel Aviv Juvenile Court for a remand hearing Saturday evening.
