A car in the southern Israeli town of Shlomit, close to the border with Egypt was hit by gunfire on Thursday.
The Israeli army said troops scanned the area, and determined the bullets were likely errant shots from Egypt.
Nobody was hurt in the incident.
The Egyptian army frequently shoots at drug smugglers and jihadist groups in the northern Sinai desert, sometimes resulting in accidental cross-border fire.
