A Palestinian man was killed Friday in clashes with IDF troops along the border fence in the southern Gaza Strip, officials from the Hamas-run Gaza health ministry said.
Salame Abu Jamaa, 23, was shot in the head during a protest east of Khan Younis, health ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra said.
According to Israel’s Ynet news website, dozens of Palestinians were also throwing stones near the border fence in central and northern Gaza. IDF troops were active in the area, the report said.
Another three Palestinians were wounded by rubber bullets fired by IDF troops near the fence, the Walla website reported, citing a military source.
Earlier Friday, a Palestinian stabbed and seriously injured an Israeli man outside a grocery store in a West Bank industrial park north of Jerusalem before fleeing the scene, police said.
The man, aged about 40, sustained stab wounds to the upper body. He was treated at the scene before being evacuated to hospital, the Magen David Adom medical service said.
Minutes earlier, an elderly Palestinian woman attempted to run over IDF soldiers near Hebron, but was shot by troops at the scene.
None of the soldiers were reported injured in the attack at Halhul Junction, the site of a similar attack earlier this week. The driver was seriously injured and received medical treatment on the scene before being evacuated to a nearby hospital, an army spokeswoman said.
