German neo-Nazi falls to his death hiking on Hitler’s favorite mountain
Andreas Münzhuber, a treasurer of The Third Way group’s Bavaria branch, reportedly slipped and plunged to his death from the Untersberg

A senior figure in a German neo-Nazi movement died when he fell off Untersberg mountain, famous as a favorite scenic location of Nazi wartime leader Adolf Hitler.
Andreas Münzhuber, 37, a member of the Bavaria faction of neo-Nazi group The Third Way, plunged to his death on September 29, according to German outlet T-Online.
He was part of a group of 30 people on a tour when the fatal incident happened.
German police said Münzhuber slipped on a wet root and fell some 60 meters down a steep rocky slope, and was killed immediately.
Two helicopters were scrambled to help in efforts to retrieve his body.
The Third Way is believed to have about 600 members in Germany. Britain’s UK Telegraph newspaper reported that Münzhuber was listed as the treasurer of the Bavaria faction in a 2023 German government report on the group.

The 1,972-meter-tall Untersberg, which sits along the border between Germany and Austria, is known to have been among Hitler’s favorites, and his Eagle’s Nest retreat was located in the same area. The mountain famously appeared in the background during the opening and closing scenes of the musical “The Sound of Music.”
The Untersberg is reportedly a popular pilgrimage site for far-right activists.
Far-right activists and extremist groups launched an online fundraising campaign to set up a memorial for Münzhuber at the place where he fell, as well as to support his wife and baby daughter, German outlets reported.
By last Friday the Facebook donations page had raised over $10,000, reports said.
