The IDF stopped a violent demonstration near the border fence between Israel and the northern Gaza Strip on Friday, injuring one of the protesters.

Dozens of Palestinians had gathered near the fence and had begun tampering with it while throwing Molotov cocktails and stones at Israeli soldiers on the scene, close to the Israeli town of Nahal Oz, according to the army.

Israeli soldiers responded with live fire after warnings for the protesters to retreat went unheeded. One Palestinian was reportedly injured by a gunshot to the leg.
