Israeli troops seized NIS 4 million worth of hashish in a drug bust near the Egyptian border, the military announced Saturday.
According to the Israel Defense Forces, military lookouts spotted a vehicle in the southern Yoav Regional Brigade that was suspected of attempting to smuggle drugs.
IDF troops and Border Police operating in the area later found bags containing some 100 kilograms of hashish, a haul the military estimated was worth NIS 4 million (over $1.2 million).
The IDF announced the arrest of a suspect later Saturday, after scouring the area.
Both the suspect and the drugs were handed over to police as part of the investigation.
