Israel’s Guy Sasson wins Wimbledon wheelchair doubles for 2nd straight year
Paralympic medalist and his Dutch partner Niels Vink have won the last 6 tennis Grand Slams, a historic run that could see them win all 4 Majors in a single year

Israel’s Guy Sasson won the Wimbledon tennis tournament’s quad wheelchair doubles with his Dutch partner Niels Vink on Saturday.
It was the pair’s second straight triumph at Wimbledon and their sixth straight Grand Slam title — the latter figure a tie for the all-time record in the category.
The top seeds beat second seeds Sam Schröder and Jin Woodman 6–2, 6–1 in the final.
Sasson told Israel’s Sport5 channel that the pair’s goal is to win the US Open and thus complete a calendar Grand Slam — winning all four major tournaments in Melbourne, Paris, London and New York in the same calendar year.
“We are hungry for this,” he said. “We know it would be special and historic since nobody has done it before us.”
He added of Vink: “I have a great partner and we complete each other as a team. We knew we had to perform today and we’re looking for many more finals together.”
In the singles tournament, Sasson lost to Vink in the semifinal.
Sasson, 46, a father of four, was injured in a 2015 snowboarding accident in France that left him in a wheelchair.
He then spent a year in a rehab hospital and picked up wheelchair tennis in 2018, having played tennis as a child.
In addition to his six Grand Slam doubles titles, Sasson has won two Grand Slam singles titles, the 2024 and 2025 Roland Garros. He won a bronze medal in the 2024 Paralympic Games.
