The State Attorney’s Office indicts Yehudah Elbaz, 22, a serving IDF soldier from Givat Ze’ev, and Ariel Haim Bozaglo, 25, from Jerusalem, on charges of attempted murder of two youths.
The alleged murder attempt was planned due to a financial dispute among those involved, centering on a gambling debt of some NIS 250,000 ($85,000).
According to the indictment, Elbaz, a serving IDF soldier, and Bozaglo conspired with other individuals to harm the youths because of the debt.
They allegedly invited the two youths to a meeting in Givat Ze’ev in April this year under the pretext of settling the debt, with Elbaz arriving with his army-issued assault rifle.
When the victims arrived at the scene, Bozaglo and others hurled rocks at them, and Elbaz then opened fire with his assault rifle, firing 15 shots and injuring them both severely, according to the indictment.
