8 passengers removed from flight for trying to fly to Russia without permits

The Health Ministry and Population and Immigration Authority say eight people were removed from a flight to Russia after they attempted to fly using foreign passports, apparently to bypass the need to receive permission.
Due to high infection rates, Israelis are currently forbidden from visiting Russia without special permission given by a committee that examines applications.
The eight passengers were removed from the flight and transferred to police for an investigation.
Israelis are currently barred from traveling to Argentina, Brazil, South Africa, India, Mexico, and Russia. Anyone returning from any of those nations, including those already vaccinated, must quarantine at home for 14 days, and will be fined NIS 5,000.
